We stopped for a day or so in Reno, then on to Lake Tahoe to join up
with the rest of the State Farm gang. Bob played golf and I took a boat tour
around Lake Tahoe, beautiful. Then it was on to the Ponderosa ranch for a
barbecue and then to Virginia City, then we went through Donner Pass on
our way to San Francisco. That was the end of being with the State Farm
group, they went on home, we went to Sacramento to be with Bob's sister and
husband. Had a great time there visiting and touring Old Sacramento and the
wine country.
Our first stop, Lake Tahoe.
Then on to the Ponderosa Ranch. Didn't see any of the Cartrights
though!
Virginia City, very interesting town. The drive along the mountains
getting there was a little scary though! Yikes!! A long way down those
mountainsides!!!!
Bob took a picture of me with the bartender at the Delta Saloon, site
of the Suicide Table. Unfortunately, some man who imbibed way too much
alcohol wanted his pic taken with me too. A picture of the famous Bucket of
Blood Saloon.

Then it was on to San Francisco via Donner Pass. We stayed at the St.
Francis hotel while there. I guess if it's good enough for the Queen of
England, it's ok for us too. Also this was where part of the tv series
"Hotel" was filmed.

Lombard Street, the crookedest Street in the world. The Golden Gate
bridge.
We also visited the famous tourist site, Fisherman's Wharf. Then went
to the island of Alcatraz, where we took a walking tour. Very very
interesting!!!!
Of course I loved visiting China Town, but didn't eat there. But
that's another story, ha ha!!! Then on to Sacramento!
The first pic is Mel and I, the 2nd Dennie and I. These are Bob's
sister and brother in law. We had a great time while visiting them, lounging
in their spa and pool, drinking pina coladas, visiting Old Sacramento and the
wine country!

Old Sacramento was interesting to visit also. Also a pic of the
governor's mansion there.
We flew over the copper mines just south of Salt Lake City. Then we
landed here for a short stop, then on home! All in all, a wonderful time was
had by us!!
